In Progress Castle

A castle we are creating for a project in Maya and Unity (screenshot from Maya)

Hand Gun Perspective Drawing

A perspective gun drawing, also found in the first life/perspective drawing post.

Palm Tree

A palm tree model created in 3D Studio max, using textures, duplication and pivot repositioning.

Scientist UV Unwrapping & Building

For some more complex UV unwrapping on clothes I first started with some cartoon scientist trouses, I used the relax tool to get the texture looking right, and made sure the seems at the end of the trouses looked right.

I then did the same with the scientist's glove and added a leather texture.

I also mapped a texture onto a box to create the building, I created edge loops to define the sides and top of the windows and the window ledges, and modeled these on to the side of the building.

Pumpkin Animation

In order to make a pumpkin animation using a single texture I created a texture and linked it to a mesh and the mesh to series of bones. I then used envelopes to make sure the correct vertices of the mesh were captured ready for the animation.

The finished animation shows how the texture animation worked.

Coruscant & Street scene perspective analysis

I took 2 images into Photoshop, the Star Wars Coruscant and a Street view, the first is 2 point perspective, I found the horizon line (lower) and added perspective lines to find the vanishing points.

The second picture was 3 point perspective, the horizon line was in the picture, though the 3rd vanishing point was very high up.

Land Speeder and Enterprise

To practice 2 point perspective I drew a Star Wars land speeder in photoshop.

I also drew the Enterprise in pencil.

Week 10 Sketches

This week I started my creative sketch by doing a quick 30 second sketch with my eyes closed.

I then took some of the skapes and ideas from that sketch to do a more polished one.

I also drew this week 2 viewpoints of a character design.

For my observational this week I used a 0.3mm mechanical pencil to sketch a jacket, toaster and skirt.

Week 9 Sketches

This week I drew a hand puppet I have for my observational whilst he was on my arm and making it ache. I first drew it in pencil and then added some more definition with pen.

My creative was inspired by the anime series called "Deadman Wonderland". This was done first in pencil, then all in ink/pen.

Pink Creature

For this painted I used a limited pallet, which was 20 colours taken from another image, I then added a few more colours to the pallet during the painting.

My Paint:

A very scared deadly bunny creature.

An in progress steampunk frog.

A very painty catterpillar.

UV Unwrapping Return of Chick Pea Can and T-Shirt

For UV Unwrapping, I started by creating an unwrapped layout of the polygons. I then use photoshop to create the textures in the right place.

Quickly using photoshop to change the mapped texture, you can quickly get another texture fit to the object.

We use a checkerd map to create a well fitting tshirt texture. We then used photoshop to create our own tshirt designs.

A render of the t-shirt, based on the anime Eureka Seven.

The back of the t-shirt with some tears.

Week 8 Sketches

This week I drew a projector in pen for my observational, I liked the perspective and how the wires overlap. I tried to use more subtle shading using lines on this one

My creative was a battle in space between 2 planet, A4 and in mostly pencil with a little pen

Life/Perspective Drawing Week 6

This week in life drawing we had our first life model.

Firstly I did a series of 2 minute sketches of him in different poses.

After that I did 2 fifteen minute drawings

Finally I did 2 30-45 minute drawings

Slimey, Hairy Bug

A painting of a another online reference line drawing of a strange bug.
I used images of bug underneath to gather his shape and lighting, also as a colour reference.

Lizard Guy

A painting of an armoured Lizard, created from an online reference line drawing.
I spent a lot of time on this and changed my mind about a few thingsm I didn't really feel as though it was finished, but didn't know how long it would be until it was.

Update:

First I did a more polished pain up of the lizard guy.

I then added a lizard skin texture to the parts where his skin is showing.
